For the ninth consecutive year Backwoods Pondfest is bringing the best live music to northern NY. A festival originally created by host band Lucid, over the years has expanded to include som of the greatest local, regional and nationally touring acts. Combining a relaxed atmosphere, bucolic setting and great music, Backwoods Pondfest really has something to offer the festival scene.

I have such fond memories of the Green River festival in Greenfield, MA. Watching the balloons take test runs from my front porch back a dozen years ago when I lived in Greenfield. Watching my daughter take her very first steps a dozen years ago at the festival, perhaps while we were watching They Might Be Giants…
Some Kind of Jam 10 is a full weekend music and camping festival, featuring over 30 musical acts on 4 stages, workshops, food and craft vendors, and a myriad of activities. Presented by Jibberjazz Productions, the festival will take place from April 24-26, 2015, in Schuylkill Haven, PA. As always, Jibberjazz will unleash a vast array of musical styles including: Jam, Funk, Folk, Bluegrass, Americana, Rock & Roll, Blues, World, Reggae, and more.
Late Winter Jibberjam, presented by Jibberjazz Productions, will take place March 7, 2015, in Allentown, PA. This event is billed as a miniature music festival and will consume two venues at the Days Hotel. 10 eclectic musical acts will be showcased throughout the evening. As always, Jibberjazz will showcase a wide variety of musical styles including Jam, Folk, Funk, Bluegrass, Blues, Rock & Roll, Reggae Singer Songwriters and more. Simultaneous music will be spread among 2 stages/venues inside the host hotel. Event doors open at 3pm. Music runs 4pm-2am. Event venues restricted to those 21 years of age.
This New Year’s, the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa in Kerhonkson, NY, the home of Rock n Roll Resort events, introduces a New Year’s Eve one day winter festival featuring a vibrant array of eclectic, high energy musicians. The newly-renovated Hudson Valley Resort & Spa offers convenience to music lovers seeking to check their keys at the door and party all night, with their bed just an elevator ride away. To underscore the fact that this is essentially a one-day Winter festival / slumber party, Turkuaz and the promoters have packed the 27 hours between doors on 12/31 and check out time on New Year’s Day with a broad range of music spanning multiple genres and the most user-friendly situation possible. This year’s inaugural event will feature Consider the Source, Tauk, Spiritual Rez, The Primate Fiasco, Mister F, Danny Pease & the Regulators and– of course– the hosts, Turkuaz.
The Jibber Jazz folks down in Pennsylvania can’t wait a whole season to throw a festival. The keystone winters won’t stop them from throwing an indoor festival in December featuring some of the finest bands from the Mid Atlantic.
Headlined by Grammy award winners Sam Bush and the Del McCoury Band, 10 bands, ranging from the traditional Bluegrass sound to the Newgrass style, will perform from 12:30-11 p.m. Doors open at noon and General admission into the festival is $55 in advance and $65 at the door.
The Foodstock Fund announces Foodstock 7 to be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014, at The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie. Tickets are $20 each. Proceeds go to The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie’s food services. This year’s concert will feature the diverse selection of quality musicians that Foodstock has become known for, including internationally-known folk-rock band The Felice Brothers, Kristen Capolino, Sirsy, Adam Ezra Group, and Snaphammer.
The fifth ever Old 78 Farm Fall festival is happening on September 20th and will feature amazing food, family activities, two stages of music, home grown produce and meats, local craft vendors, pony rides and more. Two stages will host music all day in the “Right to Farm” community of Warwick, MA.
