Editor’s Note:  A new slew of dates were just released for November and December.

The much anticipated announcement of tour dates for Dead and Company have been released. The band is to include Grateful Dead veterans Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzman and Mickey Hart, who will be joined by John Mayer on guitar and vocals. Jeff Chimenti, veteran of the GD50 reunion concerts, Ratdog and Furthur will reprise his roll on keyboards. Joining the band on bass will be original member of Aquarium Rescue Unit and bassist for the Allman Brothers band the last many years, Oteil Burbridge.

OteilWe had the opportunity to run into Burbridge last week in NY at Roots Rock Revival, a rock and roll fantasy camp, and congratulated him on the new project. He, however, seemed more welcoming of the congratulations on his child, proudly showing off the picture he had on his cell phone.

Dead and Company have released a handful of dates from the end of OCT in Albany and New York City through November into New England and the Mid Atlantic. December will have holiday oriented West Coast dates. The schedule is conspicuous though, as the spread of dates sincerely implies additional dates are to be added. The initial rumors included over twenty dates, and the list below is only ten dates.

Reaction is already pouring in on social media:

Diane Liggett,  “Yay, L.A. baby! Can’t wait. so EXCITED.”

Michele Ashley,   “Excited??? Hell YES!”

Steve Grant “Mayer is bad ass”

New dates have just been added in the Midwest, Colorado, Southeast and Vegas.  Check the full list of dates below.
