Summer tour for Dead & Co has been heralded as one of the bigger tours running currently in the US, and fans in general have lauded the band’s performances from one stop on the tour to the next. It was surprising to learn today that Dead & Co have canceled two upcoming dates on the tour.
Canceled tour dates include stops October 6 at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach and MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds in Tampa, FL on October 7. Still in question are the October 14 and 15 dates in Texas which have been on the rumor block. This could be as a result of soaring infection rates in two of the largest states in America.
There has been some confusion and protestation from the band’s fans about changing admission requirements that were mandated after tickets went onsale. Fan forums have seen a variety of complaints about a lack of responsiveness from Ticketmaster for refunds. One fan quipped that they got their refund after a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
The band made a surprise announcement earlier this month with two new dates in Colorado at Red Rocks, October 19 and 20. Presale registration is available HERE.
Dead & Co recently played historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, and as one of the oldest and dearest ballparks in America that weekend is a highlight show for many on tour. And seeing that Chicago has such significance from the last city played by the Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia, to the historic GD50 run, it is always a favorite among Heads. The reports from those who went were that the shows had some epic moments.

COVID PROTOCOLS for Dead & Co.
*Ticket holders must provide proof of full vaccination or negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours prior to entry, except where prohibited by law. Children under the age of 12 may attend the concert if they provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the show.
Additionally, all fans in the pit for each show will need to be fully vaccinated. Negative Testing is not an available option for pit entry. No Pit access for children under 12 or anyone without proof of vaccination.
** Wrigley Field: Ticket holders must provide proof of full vaccination with state-issued digital verification, the original vaccination card or a copy of the vaccination card OR provide proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test from an independent lab within 72 hours prior to entering the venue.
Unvaccinated fans under 12 years of age will be required to take a COVID-19 diagnostic test within 72-hours before the event and must provide proof of negative result prior to entering the venue, except where prohibited by law.
Additionally, all fans in the pit for each show will need to be fully vaccinated. Negative Testing is not an available option for pit entry. No Pit access for children under 12 or anyone without proof of vaccination. If a GA Pit ticketholder does not have proper documentation, they will be provided an alternate viewing location. There are no exceptions to this policy. Additional information will be sent to GA Pit ticketholders prior to the show.

OFF-SITE EARLY VERIFICATION FOR 9/16 10am-4pm: Across from The United Center. 1901 W. Madison St. Chicago, IL 60612. Enter United Center lot E (Uber Lot) entrance located off Wood Street at the corner of Madison and Wood. (across the street from Athletico Physical Therapy – West Loop).
ON-SITE EARLY VERIFICATION FOR 9/17 AND 9/18 BEGINNING AT 10AM:
- Gallagher Way (Gate 4) located on the west side of the ballpark on Clark Street.
-Shakedown Street (Cubs’ Highlander Lot) located just north of the ballpark on Waveland Avenue.
-Marquee Gate (Gate 3) located at the intersection of Addison and Clark streets.
***New COVID-19 protocols for these concerts will be announced shortly.
**** Red Rocks: All fans will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) at the time of the event and provide proof of vaccination – either the original vaccination card, a printed copy of the vaccination card, a picture of the vaccination card, or have the mycolorado app showing proof of vaccination. All forms of proof of vaccination must be presented with a state issued ID. These regulations will apply to all members of your party before they are allowed entry to the event and to any users of the tickets purchased by you.
On-site COVID-19 Testing
We are offering a limited number of tests at the venue. For $39.99, you can sign up to receive a Rapid Covid Antigen test onsite. Simply schedule your 15-minute rapid antigen test, show up to the venue at your requested time, and proceed to the designated testing area. Your confidential results will be uploaded to your phone so you can enter the gates with proof of a negative test!
