Troubadour and guitarist John Kadlecik has many plans in the coming months from his solo Acousti’Lectric shows, to full band shows as the John Kadlecik Band, to performing with various friends and associates, to premiering his brand new band, the Fellowship of the Wing. As usual, you can never tell if it’s a one-time grouping of performers or a band that is likely to hit its stride on its own. This next week will see Kadlecik in Alabama and Tennessee as he returns from a jazz fest NOLA pilgrimage. He then will be performing solo at the Grateful for Spring 5 festival in Jermyn PA before embarking on a series of dates with the John Kadlecik Band show. The JKB has been a revolving cast of characters surrounding Kadlecik for several years now, touring from coast to coast, and this iteration is Jay Lane (Furthur, Ratdog, Primus) on drums, Benjie Poreckie (Keller’s Grateful Gospel) on keys, and Joe Gallant (the Illuminati) on bass. The Fellowship of the Wing will be Lane on drums, Reed Mathis (Electric Beethoven, Tea Leaf Green, Billy and the Kids and Golden Gate Wingmen) on bass and vocals, plus Todd Stoops (RAQ, Kung Fu, Electric Beethoven) on keys and vocals. This quartet will perform in Colorado in June including one night in Denver, and two afternoon shows in Boulder prior to Terrapin Family Band with Phil Lesh shows at the Fox Theatre. Interspersed throughout the coming months will be solo plays, JKB plays, John performing with an all star ensemble for the second time in June at the Ardmore in Philadelphia as a celebration of Wavy Gravy, and even a late summer appearance with Oteil Burbridge at Nedfest. You never know where and with whom Kadlecik will appear. From the video channel of Appparently This Matters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sCOn4a9xA8 There have even been mysterious sightings of the Bureau of Sabotage, an all star band that Kadlecik has with Burbridge and Aaron Magner of the Disco Biscuits who have been spotted like Sasquatch in the strangest and rarest of places. Recently Kadlecik appeared as special guest of Dead Feat in New Orleans at Jazzfest with members of Little Feat plus Jackie Green and others, and in March was with Phil Lesh and Friends in NY at the Capital Theatre.
