Charlemont Reggae Festival is held at the old Charlemont Fairgrounds, boasting a lineup of Western Mass reggae legends. Headlining this year are the Alchemystics and Woody & the Rebel Alliance, both well-known in the region and beyond. The other acts on this year’s Reggae Fest lineup include Denroy Morgan, Root Shock, the Berklee Bob Marley Ensemble, Rhythm Inc, The Addis Revolution, I Anbassa & The Word Sound Power Movement, Dave Noonan’s Green Island,  and Total Collision on the main stage. On the “showcase stage,” JAM-ATAN (abina) featuring I-Shea and Sana Ndiaye, David Boatwright of the Equalites and Loose Caboose, Ethiopian Dread Abyssinian Spiritual Reggae Band, and Mystic Eye featuring Amber O’Brien and Tyler Schenck. This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome. Bring a small cooler or purchase food from one of the festival’s many vendors. This year fourteen area acts will perform for only $25.00 in advance and $30.00 on the day of the festival. Children 12 and under are free! If you’re interested in purchasing alcohol, the fairground’s large pavilion will keep you cool and dry all day while you sip a tasty libation from South Deerfield’s own Berkshire Brewing Company. New to the Charlemont Reggae Festival this year is a children’s tent with a focus on preserving our beautiful environment. The organizers have also added a second stage for acoustic music from up-and-coming acts.
