This Saturday and Sunday, The Susquehanna Valley Event Center will host Keepers of The Flame, a music and arts camping festival featuring performances by Melvin Seals and JGB, Willie Jack & The Northern Light, Crippled But Free, Stir Fried, Mysterytrain, Moonlicker, Old Kentucky Shark, and more to be announced!
Keepers of The Flame will be held in tribute to beloved friend of the music scene Chris Ehrsam who passed away on July 7, 2021. Chris loved music and was involved in festival scene for more than 20 years and would have dearly wanted his accomplishments and memories to be celebrated within a festival.

The gates at the Event Center will open on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1 PM for General Admission attendees, and at 12 PM for campers. Anyone wishing to purchase a campsite must also have already purchased a ticket to the event. The Susquehanna Valley Event Center does ask that pets be left at home, and no outside food or beverages will be allowed. Guests will be allowed to bring lawn chairs, easy-ups, and blankets, and food and crafts will be available for purchase along the perimeter of the concert field.
Last week, Live Music News & Review caught up with the members of experimental American group, Old Kentucky Shark for a brief interview. Old Kentucky Shark hails from Central Pennsylvania and are more than excited to play at Keepers of The Flame this weekend.
LMNR: What have been some of your favorite shows to play so far this year?
OKS: We have played a couple of shows at a place called the Brickyard, which were fun outdoor shows. More recently we had the honor to open for Strung Like A Horse at Lovecraft Brewing Company. We also played a cancer benefit with Native Maze recently which was a blast and raised a bunch of money for a needing family, so that was great!
LMNR: What are some memorable musical connections you’ve made with fans throughout the pandemic?
OKS: As a newer band we really tried to hone in on our sound, write new songs, and learn some fun covers through the pandemic. We also played a live stream on Facebook to try to bring some entertainment to our fan base during some tough times.
LMNR: What can we look forward to hearing at the Keepers of the Flame festival next weekend?
OKS: We will be excited to showcase some of our new songs we have been working, and some covers we have made our own.
LMNR: What else have you guys been working on this year?
OKS: Currently we are in the midst of recording our first full length album. We are also working on a music video for a band contest called The Big Break. We are looking forward to taking 2022 by storm.
