Kia Forum November 16 2022 Inglewood, CA Reporting by Harriet Kaplan and photos by Kris Kuganathan

As the lights went dark the opening notes of Rabel’s Bolero coursed through the sound system and Arcade Fire hit the stage at the Kia Forum. From the band’s opener, “Age of Anxiety part I” the band unfurled an epic set, over twenty songs crackled and warmed fans packed into the arena.

Screens adorned either side of the stage to showcase close ups of the band. While this is distracting at some shows, it was tastefully done on this night, more of a supplement to the show than something that was the focus of the band’s visual performance.

The band treated the fans to songs from throughout their career, and a great show that included inflatable characters to start “Unconditional II.” The stage was often bathed in a warm colored glow as the tasteful light show complimented the band’s performance.

The band is on tour supporting their sixth studio album, We. The “We” Tour with dates throughout Canada over the next week.

The four song encore included an unexpected cover of Tom Petty’s “Freefallin.” The show concluded with the band’s original from all the way back to 2004, “Wake Up.”
