Great American Music Hall hosted Half Alive on October 19 2019 by Justine Willard
Half Alive brought their Now, Not Yet tour to San Francisco for two nights. On Saturday, October 19th, they performed in front of a sold-out crowd at the Great American Music Hall.
The band consists of lead singer Josh Taylor, drummer Brett Kramer, and bassist J. Tyler Johnson. They put on an excellent show with a fantastic light show, backup dancers, and unique choreography. They started the night off with “ok ok?” a single from their debut album Now, Not Yet, which came out in August.
During the song, “Rest,” Josh somehow got on the balcony that is above the stage, and the crowd went crazy. The band encouraged everyone to dance, sing along, or do whatever they wanted to do to the music.
The crowd’s favorite song of the night was “Still Feel,” which was released in 2017 and is their best-known hit. The crowd contributed to the song by singing “oohs” and “aahs” to the tune. After that, things slowed down a bit with the song “BREAKFAST.”
To end the night, Half Alive performed “Creature,” which is the last song on Now, Not Yet. The band is known for their unique choreography and dance moves, and they were able to transfer that energy to their live shows flawlessly. Unfortunately, their American leg of the tour is over, but they will be touring Europe till the end of November.
