Phil Lesh Unveils List of Friends Set to Join Him at Beach Road Weekend

Phil Lesh has unveiled the list of artists that will perform with him on August 11th at the inaugural Beach Road Weekend festival on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Grammy winner Eric Krasno, Cris Jacobs, former front man for the acclaimed jam band The Bridge, singer songwriter Nicki Bluhm, multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Jason Crosby, and percussionist John Molo will join Lesh to headline the final night of the festival at Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven.

First imagined by Adam Epstein, founder of the MV Summer Concert Series which began in 2016, Beach Road Weekend is a multi-stage event that will come to life August 9 – 11, 2019. The festival will kick off with Super Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band, giving festival attendees the chance to take part in a “Sweet Caroline” sing-a-long! The Cape Symphony will take the stage, performing John Williams’ iconic score to JAWS while the full movie, start to finish plays on three massive LED screens.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty headlines the festival on Saturday, along with Boston-based band Dispatch, North Mississippi Allstars, Mason Jennings, and Alejandro Escovedo. The festival closes out on Sunday with Vineyard favorite Grace Potter, Phil Lesh & Friends, reggae singer Matisyahu, funk & jazz band Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and the Original Wailers.

The MV Stage will showcase some of the amazing musicians that call Martha’s Vineyard home. Former Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and The Phil Darosa project are among the acts slated to perform along with FirstBourne, Siren Mayhew, Rose Guerin, The Dock Dance Band, Brothers McMahon Holy Rock n’ Roll Revival, The Outskirts, and The Mike Benjamin Band.

Food is a key part of every festival and Beach Road Weekend is no different. Local food vendors will be onsite offering a wide range of refreshing drinks, snacks and meals, including Coop de Ville, Mikado, Rockfish, Waterside, Red Cat, Yommi/Vintage Delicious, Midnight Train, and Frankie’s Flatbreads.

Beach Road Weekend is partnering with the Seastreak Ferry to offer festival goers another way to see every act of the festival and still make it back to the mainland each night. The late-night ferry will run to New Bedford Saturday and Sunday after John Fogerty and Phil Lesh and Friends perform. Anyone who buys a ticket through Seastreak.com is guaranteed a spot on the boat.

To purchase a ticket that includes ferry, guests can head to Seastreak.com and select the New Bedford to Martha’s Vineyard Route. Be sure to select New Bedford as your departing locations and Vineyard Haven as your destination. You will then be able to select the special late-night service on Saturday or Sunday. Guests can also call 1-800-BOATRIDE (1-800-262-8743) and talk with a customer service representative to purchase a ticket.

Guests heading to the Vineyard will arrive at Oak Bluffs and take the Beach Road Weekend shuttle to the festival at Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven.
