The Maypop Flower is Tennessee’s state wildflower, and how the area in which Maypop Music and Arts Festival, Ocoee TN got it’s name. Ocoee means the land where the Passion Flower (Maypop) grows. Used for the treatment of anxiety, depression and pain, and as a source of food, plus so much more by the natives of the region.

The Maypop Music & Arts Festival is more than just another music festival. The promoters of the festival will be donating fifteen percent of proceeds from ticket sales to People Helping People, a local non-profit that works with anyone in need. From food, to clothing, maybe just a talk, and even free clothes. Maypop has also partnered with Aid A Veteran, based out of Cleveland Tennessee and the Arbor Day Foundation by donating $1 of every ticket to help plant some trees.

The festival will be on June 29th –July 1st  outside the Beautiful Ocoee, TN  at Camp Reggae 204 Calvender RD Turtletown, TN 37391 . Amazing bands, DJ’s, and performers of all types.  There will be a great selection of ice cold beer, and many activities including (games, hula hoops, dancing, camping, and more). All ages are admitted and there be an adult only side to the festival grounds. Area51presents.com will be bringing in huge production this year.

The entertainment lineup this year includes:  Fre3kbass, TreeHouse!, NattiLoveJoys, Nick Hagelin (of the TV show the Voice), Kallan HK, Memories of 2Morrow, Doctor Ocular, West King String Band, CMOR, DJ Salty, Dead Affect, Patty Melt, The River Funk!, SugarKayne, Legion, D3M3NT3D, and more to be announced.

We here with The MaypopFest saw the need in the Ocoee region after several natural disasters destroyed parts of the area in 2016 for an event that celebrates the history and cultural heritage of the area. We wanted to give back, and the Maypop Music and Arts Festival was born.  The rafting season is in full swing by June and other activities in the area include  rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, and more.  . This is a great time to help educate, bring in new people, help others, and just enjoy the Ocoee area.

Tickets are $50 dollars and up for a weekend of entertainment. Vendors, food trucks, artist, and over 40 performing artist. Camping is available.  Please go to www.maypopfest.com for more information.
