Susquehanna Valley Event Center hosts Del McCoury Band and SPRING JAM 2021 Memorial Day Weekend

As major festivals begin to make a comeback across the United States, local festivals throughout Pennsylvania are ramping up. On Saturday, May 29th, Del McCoury will kick off a weekend of live music at the Susquehanna Valley Event Center, located at 205 Airport Rd. in Selinsgrove, PA. Serene Green, as well as Owl & Crow (Pappy & JP) of Cabinet will also take the stage.
Live Music News & Review caught up with JP early this week and wanted to know what he thought about playing festivals again this year. He said, “Just the mere fact that a musician is being asked this question, is the best thing to me right now. I think everyone is so ready to get back to this “normal life” we’ve been hearing about for so long. I personally am focused on playing my part in that band to crowd and crowd to band energy exchange.”
On Sunday, May 30th, the Event Center will hold SPRING JAM 2021, featuring Pink Talking Fish, Yam Yam, Willie Jack & The Northern Light, Moonlicker, and Treesap (Pappy, JP & Dylan from Cabinet). Many of these acts will be performing for the first time since quarantine began, and they’re excited to get back to doing what they love.
We asked sax/keys player, Cody Zahoroiko from Willie Jack & The Northern Light how he feels now that live music is making a major comeback. He said, “I was worried the return of live music would be postponed much longer. I’m thankful to be able to play out again and listen to other artists do the same.”
We asked Tyler Fuller from Yam Yam how he felt about heading into festival season. He said, “We are stoked and pleasantly surprised to see the number of cases go down and to see these festivals happen this year. As much as people missed live music, we’ve missed the comradery and experiences of playing music and connecting with people. We’ve been working on a lot of new stuff and we are excited to get in front of some new fans and enjoy the moment.”
The Susquehanna Valley Event Center coordinates multiple live music events throughout the year across a broad spectrum of genres and rests on 13 acres of land, allowing more than enough space to maintain social distancing. Food from local restaurants will be available for purchase on the perimeters of the concert field, along with craft beer from Rusty Rail Brewing Company (Mifflinburg, PA), and wine from Iron Vines Winery (Sunbury, PA).
Tickets can also be purchased at the gate the day of the show or at one of the following ticketing outlets:
