TROUBADOR SHARES “EVERYTHING I LIKE” VIDEO, A COMICAL REFLECTION OF THE UPS & DOWNS OF TOURING LIFE, EXPANDS SPRING TOUR. MEAN DOG, TRAMPOLINE OUT APRIL 5 VIA SIGNATURE SOUNDS

New York, NY (February 26, 2019) – The Suitcase Junket will release Mean Dog, Trampoline on April 5 via Signature Sounds. Produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos (Jackie Greene, Rickie Lee Jones, Leo Kottke), Mean Dog, Trampoline marks a deliberate departure from the homespun approach of The Suitcase Junket’s previous efforts and emerges as his most powerfully direct album yet. NPR Music calls him, “A living, breathing, throat-singing, road-tested, avant-garde, one-man-band who is in a state of perpetual motion… gutsy, fuzzed-out, groove-laden psych rock.”

Today, The Suitcase Junket shares the video for “Everything I Like”, a reflection of the ups and downs of the touring life in order to share a couple hours of music and happiness with a room full of people.

“Everything I like happens at night is as true a statement about life on the road as I could think up,” says Matt Lorenz (The Suitcase Junket).” The days can be a long tedious slog, filled with the bizarre static intensity of driving the food desert that is our interstate highway system, but the nights can be so transcendent that all of the crap that filled your day melts away in the alchemy of a lit up stage and a crowd engaged. Then somebody steals your van. That’s the way it goes.”

Director Joshua Kilcoyne adds, “The warmth and energy of a great audience can be tremendously rewarding, but the hours between gigs are often lonely, monotonous, and bleak. Even more so for musicians on a tight budget who are hauling their own gear and driving their own vehicles. The aim here was to give the viewer a sense of that experience on both a practical and emotional level.”
In creating Mean Dog, Trampoline, Lorenz pulled from a fantastically patchwork sonic palette, shaping his songs with elements of jangly folk, fuzzed-out blues, oddly textured psych-rock.

The Suitcase Junket recently completed a UK tour and adds dates to the national run supporting the album. A full list of tour dates can be found below with more to be added.
