    Bob Weir sits in with Golden Gate Wingmen

    Golden Gate Wingmen is an all star outfit containing three former members of Furthur:  Jeff Chimenti on keys (Dead and Co, Furthur, GD 50, Ratdog), Jay Lane on drums (Ratdog, Furthur, Primus and many other bands), and John Kadlecik on guitar (Dark Star Orchestra, Furthur, John Oteil and Friends and many other bands.)  They are joined by bassic Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green, Jacob Fred’s Jazz Odyssey, Billy and the Kids and many other bands.)

    The band added a fifth member for their second show of a three show run (in four nights) at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA.  Golden Gate Wingmen was treating fans to a six show run toward the end of 2018 with three nights last week in Chicago at Martyr’s, and three nights in California this weekend at Bob Weir’s venue.  Weir joined the band on Saturday night, December 08, 2018.

    Weir just finished an extensive US tour with his new ensemble the Wolf Brothers (a trio featuring Weir, Jay Lane on drums and Don Was on bass) that stretched from coast to coast.  (Read the report on the Wolf Brothers show in Washington DC with special guest John Kadlecik.)

    John Kadlecik just completed his first album released under his own name, On the Road, which is for sale at CD Baby. 

    GGW opened the show with four songs before Weir emerged to play five songs with the band.

    Encore: Not Fade Away

    Kadlecik will move on next week to a Merry Jerry Christmas, a show with Oteil Burbridge and Melvin Seals at the Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on Sunday December 16.  

    Bob Weir previously sat in with John Kadlecik Band December 13 2017 also at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA.

    The three Chicago shows and the three California shows represent the final six shows of 2018 for Golden Gate Wingmen.
