It may be cold outside on of the best groups in the land is heating up the bluegrass scene, Greensky Bluegrass.  They are heading out on a national tour shortly and will be taking some great bands on tour with them including upcoming holiday shows with Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys, the front part of their January tour will feature Front Country, and the back half of the winter tour will feature the band Fruition.  The winter run culminates in a two night stand in Asheville NC where Greensky Bluegrass will join shows with Umphrey’s McGee.

On Thursday, January 26th, they will make their first appearance at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA.

Front Country hail from the Bay Area of California.  They are winners of the 2013 Telluride bluegrass competition and the 2012 Rockygrass competition, placing them in the upper echelon of up and coming bluegrass bands in the US.  Band member Jacob Groopman told us that a new album is planned for Spring of 2017.

Eight years ago, Fruition started in the streets of Portland, OR, busking. Fast forward eight years, and the quintet has been invited on tour with some of the biggest bluegrass acts in the scene today. Their pitch perfect harmonies and excellent musicianship, has helped the group get the recognition that is deserved.

Since starting out in Kalamazoo, Michigan way back in 2000, Greensky Bluegrass, has become a force in the music industry. Their sixth studio effort, “Shouted Written Down & Quoted”, is an album that shows how the band has grown closer together, with the well-thought out lyrics and superb musicianship. GSBG, has always shined brightly in the live scene. Feeding off the energy of the crowd, the group always brings their “A game” night in and night out.

Be sure to catch Greensky Bluegrass and their special guests when they come to your town this January. They will all leave you wanting more.
