The five-piece psychedelic band Mysterytrain will be in high gear this summer bringing Central Pennsylvania another full season of festivals at Sunsational Family Campground in Millmont, PA.
As always, folks can expect that good ol’ grateful vibe at one of the friendliest venues around PA. Once a month, from June through October, you can catch any or all of these magical weekends as Mysterytrain plays host to talented local and regional bands who simply come together for one purpose: good times!

Mysterytrain believes that hosting festivals from a band’s perspective is quite different than hosting them as a concert promoter. Ask anyone who has attended these events about why they are so unique and you will hear a wide range of comments.

Check out the festival preview of the Green River Festival in Greenfield MA in July.

Perks like the inexpensive $40 ticket price for 3 full days of music, car side camping, no extra charges for RV parking and free craft vending are always appreciated by the fans. Kids under 12 years old are free.

The relaxed atmosphere during these magical events is contagious. There are many Mysterytrain family volunteers who are happy to provide an extra hand so no issue ever becomes too overwhelming. This means that even at 3 a.m. the main gate is open, the community bonfire has wood ready for burning, the full menu restaurant is open, and restrooms and hot showers are cleaned regularly. Among the fans, any additional help is only a simple request away.

A powerful Meyer sound system is provided by Mysterytrain’s exclusive sound engineer David Muddiman of Starground Audio. Fans are able to hear the many styles of music throughout the weekend with the clarity and crystal clear definition of bass, middle tones, and treble. Visiting bands continue to rave about their stage sound well after their set and, if they choose to tape, leave the show with amazing live recordings in their hands.Mystery Train logo

Bands also love that they generally have 2 hour slots of actual playing time with a 30 minute set-up/tear-down period. The extra time allows bands to lock into a groove and keep it rolling for performances that are memorable for both the musicians and their fans.

The atmosphere of the crowd is the typical grateful circus. Experience fire dancers and hooping, tripped out lighting, crazy costumes, and perhaps a dancing banana! If you can imagine it, you might find it at a Mysterytrain show!

At the campground, the amplified music usually ends around midnight. The community vibes awaken once again with late night bluegrass, fireside acoustic jams and drum circles bringing folks together. Meanwhile, the starry skies overhead and the camaraderie of kind people are constant reminders of just how beautiful life can be.

Sunsational Family Campground is located at 1120 Hoffman Lane, Millmont, PA 17845. The secluded venue borders Penn’s Creek and offers many amenities such as camp sites with water and electric hook-ups, a playground, hiking trails, a brand new Olympic sized saltwater swimming pool, flush toilets and hot showers, cabin rentals, restaurant, pool tables, arcade, great fishing, and kayaking — just to name a few.

The festival area is an open and flat field of lush green grass with tree lines all around for shade. The rustic, covered stage is a few feet off of the ground, though low enough for the band to connect with the crowd and share their musical energy.

Mysterytrain considers the owners of Sunsational, Ron and Irene Geiswite, to be true family and a special relationship has formed over the past 6 years of working together. They are thrilled with having the band, production crew, and staff and have been intrigued by the kind and friendly atmosphere of these Mysterytrain events. They continue to comment on how they wish every event was like a Mysterytrain festival.

So whether you are young and ready for all night adventures, or you’re still living for the music that rocked your soul during those grateful golden years, hopefully you will come out and join us on these upcoming weekends.
