Lisa Loeb gave an intimate performance at the Bourbon Room on October 20th filled with personal stories about her life and career. The set was punctuated by a rich and satisfying selection of music going back to the 1990s including her number #1 hit song “Stay” from the film Reality Bites.

The show culminated with material from her latest album, “A Simple Trick to Happiness” released in February 2020.  She is a confident performer and has a friendly onstage presence and easily talks to her audience. Loeb possesses a very real and likable personality that is very down-to-earth and relatable. The music is incredibly heartfelt and compelling.

A seasoned professional, the GRAMMY-Award winning singer/songwriter, guitarist, touring musician and philanthropist is also renowned for making many film and television appearances as an actor. She also runs Lisa Loeb Eyewear. The outgoing and funny artist with a keen and knowing sense of humor also has her own podcast on Sirius XM Show, Stay with Lisa Loeb, where she shares stories about the music and events in the 1990s as well as the first-hand accounts from actors and musicians that lived through that memorable decade. Bourbon Room Food Review

I was treated to a delicious meal of crispy and succulent chicken tenders with fries. The food was very tasty and flavorful. The portions were generous and plentiful. I drank a ginger ale on ice to go with the food. After my meal, the restaurant’s executive chef Frankie Guerrero, who has many years of culinary experience with comfort food working at notable popups and restaurants in Los Angeles supporting high-profile chefs, brought me a personal sundae. This sundae is a signature dessert of the Bourbon Room. It is called the Bourbon Sundae. I love vanilla bean ice cream, so, it was a total treat for me. Plus all of the extras were amazing: the handmade frothy whipping cream with a smattering of toasted peanuts with the incredible Ghirardelli chocolate sauce that grazed the ice cream was the perfect touch plus a cherry literally place on the top. Kudos also must be given to the wait staff. My server was very accommodating and nice.
