In a shocking announcement no one saw coming, it appears as if Funk Jam juggernauts Turkuaz have just disassembled?

Conspicuous is the absence in this message of front man Dave Brandwein and bass player Taylor Shell. This is all the more perplexing due to the seemingly successful year that the band has had with their partnerships with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew.

The band even released a new single just last week and over the weekend played two nights at Webster Hall in NYC and an appearance at Hulaween in Florida. They were scheduled for shows upcoming including New Year’s Eve. This has an April Fool’s feel to it, but being November 02 it is all very sudden.

The band had huge shows on the schedule including this week with major stops in Burlington VT, Boston MA, Portland Maine, and even shows listed in Denver CO, Mexico, Florida, and NOLA. What could cause such a sudden split in a band that is doing so well? Best wishes from all of us here at LMNR to all the folks in and fans of Turkuaz.
