It could be said the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Manda Mosher is the female equivalent of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty rolled into one. The striking and very pretty Nordic blonde, dressed in what could best be described as Evil Knievel-inspired garb, performed standout set at The Maui Sugar Mill Saloon, with authority and conviction.

The gifted artist was supported by a seasoned band of musicians, including Eric Craig on guitar and vocals, Dan Wistrom on pedal steel, guitar and vocals, the great Mark Christian, who played for the last three songs as a special guest, Aaron Stern on bass and Jesper Nørskov Kristensen on drums. Their contribution to Mosher’s dynamic songs gave her autobiographical material a strong edge and potency live.

Promoting a new single to be released in July, the sultry singer played nine songs and the three were cover tunes: “ Nobody Gives a Damn About Songs Anymore ” (John Moreland), “State Trooper” (Bruce Springsteen) and “Changed The Locks (Lucinda Williams).

Among the highlights of the show included “Roll Away The Stone,” “ Nobody Gives a Damn About Songs Anymore,” “Fast As I Can” and “Cold Cold Love.” A four-time LA Critics Award Winner and five-time LA Music Award winner, Manda Mosher is clearly an accomplished and established artist in her own right. This memorable show was a testament to Mosher’s talent to captivate and hold the audience’s attention. The high energy and driving performance lingered in the music listener’s mind long after the last note was played.
