Here Come The Mummies invaded Highline Ballroom on Friday, 4/20, with a well-attended stop on their Wicked Never Rest Tour. According to their bio, HCTM is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5000 year-old Egyptian Mummies with a one-track mind. Their “Terrifying Funk from Beyond the Grave” is sure to get you into them (and possibly vice versa).
They certainly made good on this claim, seeming to have as much fun as the audience, whooping it up and throwing out T-shirts to the ecstatic crowd.

Here Come The Mummies plays its own brand of funk that is danceable and engaging, and 100% original. There’s a four-piece horn section, two keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, talk box, and multiple singers ganging up on seriously innuendo-laden word-play. The band frequently starts the show with a parade march, New Orleans style, to take the stage, with all the band members marching in line. The band seemed to be having as much fun as the crowd was having. Everyone was dancing, it was infectious. After the show, some of the mummies came out for pictures and autographs, continuing to connect to the crowd every chance that they had.
