After the huge success that came with the first Las Rageous last year, the festival returns in April 2018 for a two-day tribute to hard rock and old-school metal. It will take place at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, with online tickets currently ranging from $127 to $367 – they have been on sale since December 6th and the cheapest $109 tickets are already sold out, so if you feel more than ready to party hard, then organizers advise you book soon.

Doors will open at 4pm every day and both nights will be finished for 1am but specific set times will be announced two weeks before the event.

And if you are based out of state, there is no better place to travel to than Las Vegas: there is tons to do here besides the music. Just taking a stroll around the Strip (only a 5-10 min. cab ride from the venue) will reward you with iconic monuments like the Bellagio Fountains – with timed shows set to music – or the Eiffel Tower replica that stands at 460 feet and gives you a 360-degree view of Sin City.

Las Vegas remains for 2018 as one of the most popular for gambling and casinos, being cited in Betway. The city is constantly reinventing itself and staying up to date, with famous musicals at the Mirage or Venetian, to even helicopter rides that will take you all the way to the Hollywood sign, there is truly something in Vegas for everybody. Locals are also overwhelmingly supportive of the event: in 2017, half of the people who attended the show were Vegas natives, with crowds reaching 10,000 each day, according to the organizers. Following the incredible success of Las Rageous last year, 2018 has seen the festival’s budget go up by more than 30% as it spreads across two stages, ranging from 9,000 to 12,000 square feet.

The Headliners Alt-rock legends A Perfect Circle are set to headline the first day of Las Rageous – in perfect timing to celebrate the release of their fourth studio album, which fans have been eagerly anticipating for almost 13 years now! The band have been teasing songs off their upcoming album by presenting new material in live shows and getting inspiration in order to develop songs further so that they could make the final cut in the album – an approach they also used before they released their debut album, Mer de Noms, 17 years ago. It seems that the new album will finally launch around the time of Las Rageous, so die-hard fans will definitely appreciate the timing. For the rest of you, who are relatively new to the band, suffice it to say this: the band’s lead vocalist is Maynard James Keenan of Tool and the current lineup includes, besides original guitarist Billy Howerdel (fun fact: he used to be a guitar technician for Tool), guitarist James Iha, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins.

The second day of the festival is dedicated to heavy metal and headlined by LA natives, Five Finger Death Punch (yes, the name is a kung fu reference to the cult movie The Five Fingers of Death). After some recent frontman trouble during their European tour with the likes of In Flames, the band is up and running again – much to the joy of metalheads everywhere. Their haunting, sturdy guitar riffs, groovy basslines, and tight thunder solos help this band give a new meaning to thrash metal, following in the footsteps of Pantera – who they recognize as their biggest influence. Their new album is currently scheduled to be released in May, so catching them in Las Rageous would provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy tunes of past albums and see them showcase the new material live.

And then there is Judas Priest – and no words can do justice to this iconic heavy metal band from Birmingham, UK. Formed in 1969, they have so far released 17 studio albums, sold over 50 million copies worldwide and, in short, are considered one of the greatest metal bands that ever walked the earth. Their glam undertone, raging vocals and combo guitar sound make them an act not to be missed in the festival’s lineup. The band just released their first single, “Lightning Strike”, from their upcoming 18th studio album, Firepower, which will be revealed in March – just before Las Rageous. So, get ready for a performance full of energy and mayhem!

The Complete Lineup Besides the headliners, the festival features 16 more acts, including heavy metal superstars Saxon, also British and set to release their new album, Thunderbolt, which they describe as heavy metal infused with rock ‘n’ roll, some time this February. They will go on the same day as Judas Priest, with whom they have been touring as their opening act, and Thin Lizzy-related hard rock band, Black Star Riders. Female-led In This Moment and nü metal/rap-rock act Hollywood Undead (whose members use aliases and hide behind masks) are also among the highlights of the second day. The first day is completed with heavy rockers Clutch and Swedish heavy metal from Ghost, renowned for their eccentric performances (all five band members remain anonymous under the guise of “Nameless Ghouls”, while the lead singer, “Papa Emeritus,” is the only one standing out). Post-grunge act Pop Evil, Christian rockers Underoath and metalcore/hardcore punk Beartooth are also scheduled to perform on April 20th.

If you are a local, this event is truly not one to be missed – and, if you are out of town, this incredible lineup is worth the trip!
