It’s been almost 10 years since Puffy (now Puffy AmiYumi due to issues with Sean “Puffy” Combs’ stage name) toured the United States. On April 4th, 2017, “Jane” and “Sue,” as they call themselves here in the States, along with their band, performed to a large crowd of fans who’ve been waiting years for their return. The mini-tour included a stop in Boston for an animation festival before hitting Los Angeles, San Francisco and Texas! (Who knew?)

The 90-minute set including many favorites including “True Asia,” “Radio Tokyo,” the Teen Titans theme song, “Love So Pure,” “Electric Beach Fever,” and “This is the Way That I Live.” We also got to hear their new single “Paffipipoyama” which was well-received by the audience. ‘Jane and Sue’ also took moments between songs to speak to the audience (in Japanese and English) to fill the fans in on what they’ve been up to.
 
The girls, dressed in matching black and yellow Asian-styled outfits sang passionately during the slower songs and bounced around the stage with smiles on their faces during the upbeat, J-pop tunes that everyone sang along to. In the end, I don’t think anyone left disappointed and I know some were contemplating a last minute trip to San Francisco to catch their next show!

The name of Puffy AmiYumi’s tour is called the “Not Lazy Tour.”  I can assure you, this show was anything but lazy.
