The Dear Hunter and multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter Casey Crescenzo have announced their new album, Act V: Hymns With The Devil In Confessional, out September 9 on Cave & Canary Goods / Equal Vision Records. The release of Act V comes a year after Act IV: Rebirth In Reprise. Crescenzo says that the two albums were written and recorded around the same time frame but each album has its own identity, tone and experience. Act V will be the final ‘rock’ record in the Act series.

This fall The Dear Hunter will embark on “The Final Act Tour.” Crescenzo called this “a celebration of everything that has brought me to this point… a celebration for every person who ever toiled over the meaning of a verse; the placement of an illustration; the name of a song; the point of view the lyrics maintain… This tour is for all of you, and we couldn’t be more excited to see you.” The tour will kick off on September 9 in Portland, OR at Doug Fir Lounge. The tour is making stops in major music markets like Seattle, Chicago, New York, Nashville, and LA before coming to an end at The Fillmore in San Francisco. This special show will feature accompaniment by Awesöme Orchestra, the 36-piece ensemble that performed on the recordings for both Act IV & V. Eisley and Gavin Castleton are supporting the tour.
