(Logan, Oh) Returning October 9th and 10th for it’s fourth year, the family behind the Fall Campout at Duck Creek is preparing to give guests more of what Duck Creek is known for a heavy dose of highenergy Americana music (think traditional bluegrass and roots music with a modern twist), some of the most scenic festival camping you will ever find, and a small bydesign festival feel.
“We’ve been blown away by the support and enthusiasm that people have shown for our events,” says festival cofounder and director, Kyle ilson. “Duck Creek began somewhat out of necessity, as we continually had trouble finding small music festivals that weren’t all about electronic dance music, transcendental arts, late night DJs and all the things that come along with all of that. On top of that, we simply grew tired of the ‘megafestival scene’ where 10,000 people and $10 beers had become the norm. All we wanted was a festival that kept things simple, was geared towards a more familyfriendly crowd, and featured music that was made to be played in the great outdoors…so we started Duck Creek.”
The family owned and operated festival is held at the Duck Creek Camping and Outdoor Events Area, located directly adjacent to Lake Logan State Park outside of Logan, Ohio. Duck Creek is nearly 100 acres of beautiful landscape in the Hocking Hills region of southeast Ohio. This
former tree farm boasts diverse stands of trees, including bald cypress and birch groves, abundant wildlife, and a secluded feel that makes Duck Creek the perfect setting for any outdoor event.
The 2015 lineup stays consistent to the bluegrass, folk, and Americana stylings of past events with footstomping local favorites and Duck Creek hosts, Hocking River String Band, set to welcome in acts from Ohio and beyond. Outofstaters include headliners Henhouse Prowlers
from Illinios, New Jersey’s The Brummy Brothers and Whiskey Bent Valley Boys who call Kentucky home. Ohio will be well represented with performances from The Mamadrones, Camp, The Repeating Arms, and The Goldsberrys & Friends. Music will begin on Friday, October 9th, with performances by Hocking River String Band and Whiskey Bent Valley Boys from the unique and intimate setting of Duck Creek’s Pine Grove Stage. The action will then move to the Cabin Porch and Main Stages for a full day of music on Saturday, October 10th .
Guests of the 2015 Fall Campout at Duck Creek will be given a stripped down and authentic music festival experience. Don’t expect meditation circles. Don’t expect giant rainbow octopi (this has actually been witnessed at another festival), or laserlight shows. There will be no silent disco. You can expect great music, a great atmosphere, and great people. Discounted passes, festival lineup, photos of past events, and all other Duck Creek information can be found at www.duckcreekoutdoors.com
