Let’s start with anticipation. I was looking forward to this show about a month before it happened. Sometimes all you need is a good Dead Cover Band to keep you going these days, and Bearly Dead came and delivered.
As we stood and became friendly toward one another, Eye in the Sky came over the PA, and we cheered as the band walked onto the stage. A warm hearted opening of They Love Each Other, set the tone for the evening. Set one included Mr. Charlie, Let it
Rock, and Funky Bitch. Big Boy Pete was a rare one(Don and Dewey Cover), and we loved it.
After a short set break, we gathered once again into the music room. Set Two began with a rippin’ Terrapin Station, note for note perfect. The show was good vibes, and the tones were on point. Bearly Dead isn’t new to the scene, but they were new to me. It
took them 11 years to get to where they are now, and I feel that deserves some respect.
As a tribute band, they serve up what you would expect: hand picked songs, superior musicianship, and warm/happy vibes. You can tell the band is having fun, and it translates to the audience having fun as well.
This was the first stop on Here Comes Sunshine Tour. If you like the Dead, Jerry Band, and that Spirit that only Dead Shows have, you might want to check out Bearly Dead. They are polished and ready to rock. I’m glad I went, and I’m happy to drop in a decent
review.
Now go check my band out. Let’s have an epic Summer here in the States!!!!
