For the second consecutive year, nationally recognized emo/goth/metal outfit Motionless In White returned home to Wilkes-Barre Pa. to host another edition of their annual Apocalypse Fest. Taking place at the Mohegan Arena on November 13, the group was joined by Black Veil Brides, Holding Absence, and Ovtlier for a night full of loud, aggressive metal.

As part of the festivities, Motionless In White performed the entirety of their sophomore album, “Infamous,” an album considered to be one of their heaviest and saw numerous songs being performed for the first time in years. While front man Chris “Motionless” Cerulli is the only member from the original lineup, the album does feature a decent chunk of the current lineup including guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky “Horror” Olson.

When the band was just starting in neighboring Pittston, Pa. in 2004 it may have been easy to classify them as a flash in the pan or something that would burn out quickly, but the band has shown dedication and a refusal to give up, so it is somewhat rewarding for locals to see a band from 20 years ago make it to the national scene and performing at major festivals, amphitheaters, and arenas throughout the country,

Even if the show wasn’t a sell-out, the fans that made it out – many dressed in costume- were rabid, screaming along to every word, crowd surfing and just bringing a copious amount of energy to an arena on a Thursday night. Towards the end of their set, Cerulli announced that in honor of the band’s 20th anniversary, a new album will be coming soon with the single “Afraid of the Dark” being released on January 28, 2026. 20 years in and Motionless In White is showing zero signs of slowing down any time soon, and frankly, after 20 years of perseverance, they deserve it.
