The Court of Honor Stage at The Big E was never meant to hold back this much power. On September 18, 2025, the midway lights and carnival rides became the backdrop for a full-blown arena experience as Sebastian Bach stormed into town and gave New England’s largest fair one of its loudest nights of the season.

The show opened with a defiant statement: “What Do I Got to Lose?”—a newer solo track that roared across the fairgrounds with grit and fire. Without hesitation, Bach slammed into “Slave to the Grind,” the Skid Row classic that still cuts like a buzz saw. The crowd, packed shoulder to shoulder, knew they were in for more than just a greatest-hits set.

By the third song, “Here I Am,” Bach was fully in command, whipping the audience into a frenzy. Then came the first surprise of the night: a thunderous performance of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train.” With a smile and a shout-out to the Prince of Darkness, Bach honored one of his idols before doubling down moments later with another Osbourne gem, “I Don’t Know.” The pair of tributes weren’t just covers—they were declarations of respect, and Bach sang them with every ounce of power left in his lungs.

From there, it was back to his own roots. The opening riff of “Big Guns” sent fists flying, followed by the sleaze-soaked swagger of “Sweet Little Sister.” Then came the first true sing-along of the night: “18 and Life.” The song’s tragic tale poured out of thousands of voices, echoing across the fairgrounds like a choir of memory.

In one of the night’s most memorable moments, Bach paused to revisit Springfield’s rock-and-roll lore—the infamous bottle-throwing incident at the old Springfield Civic Center when Skid Row opened for Aerosmith. With a grin, he leaned into the mic: “You threw bottles—we kept going. That’s what rock and roll is all about!” The audience erupted, some (like myself) remembering it firsthand, others reveling in the story’s mythic quality.

He kept the energy high with “Piece of Me” and then tore into the fiery “Freedom.” “Can’t Stand the Heartache” brought the old-school fans deeper into the Skid Row catalog before Bach slowed the pace with a heartfelt performance of “Future of Youth.”

The middle of the set gave everyone a chance to catch their breath. A tender cover of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Carefree Highway / Sundown” revealed Bach’s softer side, before he dropped into the inevitable emotional peak: “I Remember You.” Couples swayed, phones lit up the night, and Bach’s soaring vocals proved that some ballads only grow stronger with time.

The calm didn’t last long. The snarling “Monkey Business” jolted the fairgrounds back to life, with its bluesy swagger turning the Court of Honor into a pit of pure adrenaline.

As the night wound down, Bach made sure no one left with energy to spare. He drove through “(Hold On) To the Dream” and the crushing “American Metalhead” before unleashing the only possible closer: “Youth Gone Wild.” The crowd exploded, every hand in the air, every lyric shouted back. For a moment, it wasn’t a fairground stage—it was 1989 all over again.

Sebastian Bach didn’t just perform at The Big E—he transformed it. With two blistering Ozzy tributes, a fearless retelling of Springfield’s wildest rock story, and a setlist that flowed like a rollercoaster between fury and melody, Bach showed he’s still a force of nature. This wasn’t nostalgia. This was survival, swagger, and pure rock ’n’ roll defiance.
