On September 5, 2025, the world-famous Mohegan Sun Arena transformed into the beating heart of country music. Fans traveled in from all over—some checking into the resort’s luxury hotel, others rolling in with RVs that dotted the massive parking lots like a traveling festival. By the time the lights dimmed, the arena was sold out and primed for a night of high-energy, heart-on-the-sleeve country.

The night opened with Redferrin, who wasted no time grabbing attention with his gritty, outlaw-edged sound. His authenticity resonated, making him a name to remember. Ernest followed, delivering a polished set that hit its peak with “Family Tradition,” a sing-along moment that showcased just how quickly he’s connecting with country crowds nationwide.

Then came Old Dominion, and the atmosphere shifted from excitement to eruption. Frontman Matthew Ramsey, backed by Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi, had the crowd in the palm of their hands from the opening notes. Their mix of good-natured humor, soaring harmonies, and arena-ready energy turned the performance into something more than a concert—it felt like one big family reunion.

The setlist balanced chart-toppers with fan favorites: “Break Up With Him,” “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart,” “Make It Sweet,” and “How Good Is That.” One of the night’s standout moments came with “Save It for a Rainy Day.” Though made famous by Kenny Chesney, the song was co-written by Ramsey himself, and hearing Old Dominion deliver it gave the tune a fresh layer of authenticity. The audience didn’t just listen—they roared every word back, turning heartbreak into pure celebration.

Formed in Nashville in 2007, Old Dominion have become one of the genre’s most consistent forces. Their résumé includes eight consecutive ACM Group of the Year wins and seven straight CMA Vocal Group of the Year honors, milestones few acts in any genre can claim. Beyond their own hits, they’ve penned smashes for Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban. Earlier this year, they raised over $1.25 million during a seven-night Ryman Auditorium residency, underscoring both their commercial and cultural impact.

The How Good Is That World Tour rolls on with stops in Austin (Sept. 11), Durant (Sept. 12–13), Ontario, CA (Sept. 18), Bakersfield (Sept. 19), Fresno (Sept. 20), Kennewick (Sept. 25), Everett (Sept. 26), and Belfast, UK (Oct. 27).

From the parking-lot RV parties to the last ringing chord, Old Dominion turned Mohegan Sun into a living, breathing reminder of why country music thrives on connection. With Redferrin’s grit, Ernest’s soul, and Old Dominion’s undeniable chemistry, it wasn’t just a show—it was an experience.
