After a nearly four year delay, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band made their triumphant return to Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre June 15 2023. Words by Luis Enrique Lopez, photos by A Rood Photography

The two hour plus show, led by an incredibly spry 82 year old Ringo Starr, was a warmly received musical respite by the nearly sold out crowd in attendance.

Joined by fellow All-Starrs Edgar Winter, Hamish Stuart, Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, and additional players Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonnette, the band ran through hit song after hit song, deftly running through each number with unbridled joy and enthusiasm throughout the entire runtime of the concert.

The Greek Theatre serves as a home away from home for Ringo and crew, and their enthusiasm for performing before an LA crowd definitely showed.

Hearing songs such as “Octopus’s Garden” (performed for the first time by the All-Starr band), “Hold the Line,” “Pick Up the Pieces,” “Frankenstein,” and a litany of other songs was a musical treat, and did not disappoint in the slightest.

Seeing Ringo’s All-Starr cavalcade is always a blast, and I eagerly await the next show.
