Rock and Roll legends ain’t what they used to be… The days of trashed hotel rooms, groupies, and Roman level partying are over and along with it the rock star persona. Few people embodied that all out lifestyle more than legendary rock and roll drummer Ginger Baker. A notorious figure, he is one of the few that pop into the conversation as best rock drummer of all time alongside Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon, and basically no one else.

His antics were as infamous as his incredible skill on the drum set. His presence in some of the biggest bands of the classic rock era is notable playing alongside Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce in the original power trio Cream. He then took a stint behind the kit with Clapton and perhaps the most talented player in rock history Steve Winwood (and bassist Ric Grech) in the short lived Blind Faith. His storied career continued with his own band Ginger Baker’s Air Force, and a quick stint in Hawkwind.

Baker’s son, Kofi Baker- has spent decades performing this music and more from his Indiana home base. Tonight he will launch a tour with the latest version of his band, Kofi Baker’s Cream Faith. It’s pretty simple- Kofi takes the legacy of his father and brings it into the new millennium with pals Bobby Messano on guitar and Ric Fierabracci on bass.

Bobby Messano is one of those characters who is peppered throughout your favorite albums in rock history, but you mostly don’t know his name. He got started with a band called STARZ who toured with everyone from Ted Nugent to RUSH on their Hemispheres tour and Styx. Messano then went on to do session work for Gloria Gaynor and Peter Criss. Then he became the musical director for tours with Steve Winwood, making him the perfect choice for this particular project.

Ric Fierabracci is an American bassist who has toured and/or recorded with such artists as Chick Corea, Sir Tom Jones, Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham, Bradley Joseph, Shakira, Nancy Sinatra, Planet X, The 5th Dimension, and The Beach Boys. Fierabracci had performed as the house bassist at the L.A. jazz club “The Baked Potato” until he relocated to New York City, and has also contributed to numerous TV and film jingles.

The tour kicks off tonight in Indianapolis and continues to the East coast. Fans can expect a perfect mixture of Cream and Blind Faith throughout the show, with a little of the flair that each of these individuals brings to the music.
