Steven Patrick Morrissey, best known by his stage name Morrissey, is a well-known British musician with a nearly three-decade solo career. Morrissey’s first solo album skyrocketed him to the top of the Singles Chart after the dissolution of his original band, The Smiths, and he proceeded to play his heart out through soulful songs and iconic concert appearances.

Fans will be looking forward to an exciting tour that begins in May. As gambling

Morrissey began fronting bands in the late 1970s, before forming The Smiths in 1982, as an early convert to the punk rock scene. The band broke up after several years of successful touring in Europe and the United States, allowing Morrissey to pursue music in the way he saw and enjoyed it. In 1993, the RIAA awarded him a Gold certification for his debut album, ‘Viva Hate’.

Morrissey is widely regarded as one of the most influential British lyricists and musicians of the last two decades, perhaps second only to the Beatles. He is hailed as a champion figurehead for the Indie Rock movement by both fans and record labels. The Killers, a famous American rock band, have publicly expressed their appreciation for Morrissey and the impact he has had on their overall style and sound.

Morrissey’s personal life has sparked a lot of debate over the years, owing to his enigmatic personality and proclivity to divert rather than explore personal drama. Throughout his career, he has engaged in high-profile feuds with artists ranging from Madonna to George Michael, as well as speaking out on political and animal rights issues.

In 1988, he debuted as a solo artist with the release of his debut album, “Viva Hate,” which debuted at number one on the UK’s Official Albums Chart. After that, he went on hiatus, releasing ‘Bona Drag’ in 1990, ‘Kill Uncle’ in 1991, ‘Your Arsenal’ in 1992, ‘Vauxhall and I’ in 1994, ‘Southpaw Grammar’ in 1995, and ‘Maladjusted’ in 1997. In 2004, he returned to the charts with ‘You Are the Quarry,’ which saw him return to the Top Five.

In 2006, the band released ‘Ringleader of the Tormentors,’ followed by ‘Years of Refusal’ in 2009, and ‘World Peace Is None of Your Business’ in 2014. Irish Blood, English Heart, Suedehead, The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get, and My Love Life are some of his best- known songs.

In 2017, Morrissey released his 11th solo album, ‘Low in High School,’ which was followed by ‘California Son’ in 2019 and ‘I Am Not A Dog On A Chain’ in 2020.
Morrissey’s Las Vegas residency has been rescheduled for August and September 2021 due to COVID-19. Check out the tour dates and ticket details for him below on Stereoboard.
