PIGEONS PLAYING PING PONG SHARES NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO: VIDEO DIRECTED BY JAY BLAKESBERG, FEATURING HERE COME THE MUMMIES HORNS, PLUS CAMEOS FROM MOE.’S AL SCHNIER & VINNIE AMICO, AND KDTU’S D.J. WILLIAMS

“King Kong” Available Now On DSPs

After nearly two years since their last official studio release, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has shared an official single, “King Kong,” available now on all digital service providers. To coincide with the release, the band premiered the official music video, directed by famed photographer Jay Blakesberg, on Rolling Stone Country.

Filmed at this past Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL, “King Kong” features horn performances by Here Come The Mummies—who offer support for Pigeons’ debut at The Anthem in DC on December 7th—cameos from Al Schnier and Vinnie Amico of moe. and D.J. Williams of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. The video is now live on the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong YouTube channel: bit.ly/KingKongVid.

“I remember sharing a laugh over our collective stank face when we first laid down this punchy groove at band practice,” Pigeons’ singer-guitarist Greg Ormont reminisced with Rolling Stone Country. “We quickly fleshed out some parts and gave it a metaphorical exclamation point when we screamed ‘King Kong’ to match our intense energy.”

Next week, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will make their debut at Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL, followed by a three-night Halloween run in the Northeast under the theme “Stop Making Cake,” promising fans “1 PPPPart Talking Heads, 1 PPPPart Cake and 1 PPPPart Pigeon Funk” as reported on the band’s socials earlier this month. The Halloween run starts on October 31st at Boston’s House of Blues, followed by New York City’s PlayStation Theater on November 1st and culminates on November 2nd at New Haven’s College Street Music Hall.

An extensive fall tour across the Midwest, Rocky Mountains, South and East Coast is to follow. For a full list of tour dates and tickets, visit Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s website at pigeonsplayingpingpong.com/tour-dates.
