Poughkeepsie, NY — The newly established Caribbean Association of the Hudson Valley is proud to announce its official launch, committed to supporting and uplifting Caribbean citizens across the region. Through scholarships, community resources, and cultural initiatives, the organization is focused on strengthening the presence and power of Caribbean heritage in the Hudson Valley.

To celebrate this important launch, the Hudson Valley Caribbean Festival will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Waryas Park, along the scenic Poughkeepsie riverfront.

This high-energy event will feature live performances, local DJs, and a showcase of Caribbean culture through music, food, and art. Attendees can expect a full day of entertainment, community connection, and celebration of Caribbean pride.

Festival Highlights Include:

  • Live performances and music by top local DJs and Caribbean artists
  • Family-friendly youth activities and cultural displays
  • A fiery Jerk Chicken Contest featuring the region’s best chefs
  • The vibrant “Rep Your Flag” segment
  • A colorful and competitive Costume Contest

“Our mission is to celebrate Caribbean culture while creating meaningful pathways for support, especially in education and everyday life,” said Christopher Grant, City Councilmember and representative of the Caribbean Association of the Hudson Valley. “This festival is our way of bringing the entire community together celebrating where we come from and building where we’re going.”

The Hudson Valley Caribbean Festival is free and open to the public. All are invited to experience the rhythm, flavor, and vibrant energy of the Caribbean—right here in the Hudson Valley.
