Woman Songwriter's CollectiveFor music fans who love alt-rock and Americana, the authenticity in singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Ellingsen’s playing has a timeless quality that reinforces her message of self-actualization. She’ll bring all that and more to a free show at Luthier’s Co-op in Easthampton, MA on January 28th.

Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Ellingsen’s straightforward alt-Americana sound has a timeless quality that reinforces her message of self-actualization. Combining accomplished guitar playing with clear, heartfelt vocals, Ellingsen’s music is influenced by many uniquely American styles, including rock n’ roll, blues, folk, and country. The sound is refreshingly down-to- earth, with a quality reminiscent of her musical heroes Lucinda Williams and Kathleen Edwards. Though she calls Northampton, MA her home, Ellingsen’s music has been greatly influenced by her circuitous journey to New England. Tones of her native Southern California can be heard mixed in with the flavor of New Orleans and a smidge of some Texas country.

Born in San Diego, Ellingsen is now a resident of Western MA. Her earthy and honest kind of Woman Songwriter's Collectivesongwriting fits right in the Pioneer Valley- she is a member of its genre-diverse Woman Songwriting Collective, whose members include sultry songstress Lexi Weege and multi-instrumentalist Carolyn Walker. Ellingsen brings an authentic sound via her stripped-down, no-frills tunes that seek to move the listener.

On January 28th, Lisa Marie Ellingsen will share the stage at Luthier’s Co-op in Easthampton, MA with Steve Bilodeau and the Mark Nomad Band. The show begins at 7 at the instrument repair shop-cum-live music hotspot and Ellingsen will go on at 9:30. Anyone who’s interested in quality guitar work and honest and relatable lyrics about finding one’s true self would do well to go check her out. Oh, did we mention that it’s a FREE show? It’s one of a handful of upcoming performances to promote the spring release of her album From Nola to Noho, slated for a May 2017 debut.
