Andy Frasco and the UN rocked the Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach on Wednesday, August 7, and what a wild ride it was! From the moment they hit the stage, it was, as the lyrics say, “No Brakes All Gas”- with 18 songs of pure, unadulterated energy that had the whole place buzzing.

The 21+ crowd was all in, drinks flowing and bodies moving. It was hard to tell who was feeding off who – the band or the audience. Between songs, Frasco was cracking jokes and sharing stories that made you feel like you were hanging with an old friend.

But it wasn’t all fun. Frasco got real with us, talking about his mom’s battle with cancer and how he sings the song “Someday.” every day when she is sick. The fans and band members were hushed during that one. Some fans got a little misty-eyed watching Frasco wipe away tears on stage.

The setlist was a rollercoaster, jumping from originals like “Love All of Me” and “Mature as F*ck” to covers of Led Zeppelin and Garth Brooks. They even brought up someone from the audience to play harmonica! And when Baltimore area fan favorite Jeremy Schon joined in for a few songs, the place just about exploded.

Frasco didn’t shy away from the heavy stuff either. He got deep about depression, self-love, and living in the moment. It wasn’t your typical concert banter, but damn if it didn’t hit home. “You can’t fight depression alone,” he said, “You need a f*cking village to take care of sadness.”

The opener, Nick Greeley and the Operators set the tone for the night. Greeley’s has known Frasco’s for years, and you could feel mutual respect. In conversation, he gave a heartfelt shoutout to Frasco, saying, “I just really appreciate Andy for putting us on these shows and for being a great dude in the scene who vouches for and supports a lot of us in the community. “Friends, inspire, friends, to keep going.” It’s always moving to see artists lifting each other up like that.

The night ended on a bittersweet note, with Frasco dedicating “Friends in Low Places “to a fan who’d recently passed away. It was a touching moment that drove home the connection between the band and their fans.

All in all, it was more than just a show – it was a full-on experience. Andy Frasco and the UN didn’t just play music; they created a vibe, a community, even if just for one night in Dewey Beach. If you ever get the chance to see these guys live, do yourself a favor and go. Just be prepared to leave a little bit of your heart (and maybe your voice) on that dance floor.
