Al Stewart and The Empty Pockets Saban Theatre, Beverly Hills Review by A Rood Photography
Al Stewart and The Empty Pockets returned to the LA area for an evening of favorites that the audience have listened for the past 50 years. The Empty Pockets actually had a busier day as founder and lead guitarist, Josh Solomon performed the National Anthem on his guitar at the Dodger’s game earlier that day!
Al, smiling through most of the show, sounded wonderful and regaled the audience with stories about the songs and other parts of his early days in England. Special guests included a rare appearance by his original guitarist and songwriter, Peter White who joined on stage for a handful of songs, and Chase Huna who nailed the sax and flute solos (Year of the Cat, Antarctica, etc.)
