Today, Scarypoolparty discovers an alternate reality in the video for his brand-new explosive single, “Escape” which combines live performances with cutting-edge XR technology. This anguished look into the chaotic future is filled with ensnared robots, post-apocalyptic creatures, strobes and more, swarming Scarypoolparty in an otherworldly maelstrom. Shot in partnership with the multimedia partners Freckled Sky, Pixela, LMG Touring and TRI Direction with post-production by Nowhere 2 Run, the video is the first use of this brand-new, fully immersive XR stage in Las Vegas, NV.
“Escape” is the latest from Scarypoolparty’s — aka 26-year-old Pomona, CA-native Alejandro Aranda — steady stream of projects. He recently released his LOS ANGELES EP, which MTV calls “a cold, metallic Queen of the Damned soundtrack filtered through the warm lights of his home, Los Angeles.” The EP has been met with critical praise from across the industry including Paste and Alternative Press who also named him one of 100 artists to watch in 2021.
“My time recording the “Escape” video at LMG was an absolutely amazing experience, says Alejandro Aranda. “They are using new technology to record video and create a space that is beyond words. The staff at LMG were brilliant and my team and I were taken care of for the whole experience. The Freckled Sky team are mad geniuses, and made a world that is super inspiring. Every single person that worked on this video is high class and dream to work with. Our friends at Nowhere2Run Productions added some awesome animation and post-production effects to help bring it all together.”
“LMG Touring partnered with Freckled Sky, Pixela, TRI Direction to create an immersive futuristic world for Scarypoolparty to perform in,” says LMG Touring’s Managing Director Craig Mitchell. “Using the latest in real time technology using Epic Unreal Engine, Disguise Media Servers, Stype Camera Tracking Systems and Roe LED Walls and Floors, we were able to create mix of real world and virtual world that would have been impossible to do in any other way.”
He’s released 3 videos from the EP including “Universe” featuring nothing,nowhere. These releases reflect a natural evolution of this artist from shy acoustic songsmith that was a finalist on American Idol to a fully realized artist who is expressing his unique musical visions with genre bending material that illustrates the breadth of his talent and the reach of his influences and interests.
After selling out two headlining tours and nabbing slots at Lollapalooza, ACL, and Life Is Beautiful in 2019, Scarypoolparty continues to make waves with his unique style and virtuosity and will make appearances this year at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Summer Camp.
Scarypoolparty will embark on his first post-pandemic 16-show “The Acoustic Tour,” where he’ll play stripped-down versions of some of his biggest hits.
