Bryan, the band pays homage to classic throwback sounds while adding their own distinct vibe and flair. Behind her, the Blend packs two guitars, a two-piece horn section, bass, keyboards and drums onto stages every night. From humble beginnings in an epic and sweaty basement dance party, The Blend’s goal has always been to bring that same atmosphere to their shows ever since.

Escaper and Dogs In A Pile on Saturday September 26th. FB EVENT

Dogs In A Pile
is the culmination of a love of music born from the deepest American roots of psychedelia, jazz, fusion, funk, traditional, and rock & roll. Sprung from the rich Asbury Park music scene in New Jersey, their serendipitous convergence has made for the kind of kindred intuition its members had only once dreamed of. Described as “listening to a single moving organism,” the sum of its five parts represents an original journey into the peaks and valleys of psychedelic improvisation, all while remaining reminiscent of so much we love of life and music.

The final iteration of “the Dogs” began with University of the Arts Philadelphia student and Asbury Park veteran Jimmy Law, along with his long-time friend Joe Babick, a 4 year veteran of the gifted young musician’s program at the nationally renowned Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ. Lightning struck when they were introduced to Berklee School of Music student and bass player Sam Lucid, who immediately suggested fellow Berklee student and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Kaplan. The addition of fellow Berklee student and collaborator Brian Murray in 2019 made for the quintessential final piece in the Dogs’ puzzle. Their commonality and love for improvisation by way of bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish, as well as a fervent inclination for the study of jazz, fusion and classical music has helped shape the free-flowing style that is the Dogs. Their unique synergy and joy in creating “music as an atmosphere” equates simply to, as the band would say, “spreading good music and good energy to good people.”

The literal definition of Escaper is “one who breaks free from confinement”. The band strives for a sound without limits while keeping the dance grooves going. The band released their 3rd album on Ropeadope Records in June 2020 which was met with critical acclaim including being named a JamBase “Release Day Pick”. Named “On the Verge” by Relix Magazine (full page in print edition).

ABOUT Canna Provisions:

Lee Massachusett’s lone retail recreational marijuana store has become a cannabis cash cow for the community. Since opening 12 months ago, Canna Provisions has made the municipality a total of $988,000, evenly split between the state-mandated community impact fee and local sales tax. Each assessment of $494,000 is based on 3 percent of the gross annual sales of $16 million — far exceeding the owners’ projected $10 million in sales in the year since opening day on July 5, 2019.

“If we had stayed open during the pandemic, we would have exceeded $20 million,” Canna co-founder Erik Williams told The Berkshire Eagle this summer. The nearly $1 million windfall for Lee will help soften the blow of less local revenue and state aid because of the Coronavirus outbreak. “It’s good news for the town,” said Select Board Chairman David Consolati. “It’s pretty impressive during the pandemic.”

MA Gov. Charlie Baker ordered recreational pot shops and other nonessential businesses closed in mid-March due to the global outbreak of COVID-19. Ten weeks later, in late May, the governor allowed Canna and other retail marijuana businesses to reopen under guidelines that include mask-wearing and social distancing.

Canna currently employees 73 full-time workers, 16 living in Lee with more ready to relocate.” Canna Provisions also has 2 other retail operations in both Easthampton and Holyoke, They are a committed, community oriented company that recognizes the importance and vitality of the live music industry. They are partnering with experienced live music producers, Joel MacKenzie and Spencer Lavoie of Roll On In, a Drive-In, Live Music Experience running through Halloween at: 987 Meadow Street in Lee, MA.
