Straight up, this was a great show. The venue is quite nice; I had never been there before. The stage is raised to be much more of a theater feel than a nightclub feel. The decor is on the fancier side, and all of the sight lines are excellent. The floor has chairs in rows, but there was room to dance and security let folks wander. The mezzanine has tables and chairs and is more of a dinner theater set up and overlooks the floor and stage.
The band was in a good mood and the stage set up was a bit different with a grand piano dominating the Mark side of the stage. He took full advantage and was filled with good energy throughout the show as a result. Without describing every song, it felt as if each selection had the band trying to put out the best version of that song that was possible. It was as if each song was a set closer, with energetic jams and great enthusiasm.
My personal favorite selections included the In Harmony opener, and the lengthy Emerald Eyes in the second set. The second encore, Werewolves of London, was a great final encore as it was the encore of the very first Creek show that I saw over 25 years ago. From super fan Charles DeWeese, “It was like an Agora show in West Hartford but 30 years later. I saw people I had not seen since 88 and 89. It was like a homecoming.”
