The 2017 Bear’s Picnic Family Reunion may be the best one yet! https://youtu.be/vzgauOb48cg This year’s annual music festival (their 12th) will be held again at Sunsational Family Campground in Millmont, PA. A gorgeous 45+ acre campground along Penn’s Creek, the facility boasts swimming holes, great fishing, kayaking, bathrooms, showers, playground, and a swimming pool. Like every year, the party will include a community fire, craft & food vendors, workshops, children activities, movies, fire spinners & more! Music goes to 4am! The dream of a festival that is small enough to be intimate and big on heart from hosts Ben, Chris and Ed, continues. Last year the annual tribute to the inventors of the Jam Band, the Grateful Dead, again succeeded beyond expectations! From its humble beginnings, A Bears Picnic has reached out across the country to the Grateful Dead extended family of musicians and deadheads and the children of deadheads and the answers keep coming back stronger every year. There are a few signs earmarking a great summer music festival and Bear’s has them all — the biggest being their ability to bring the big acts to their no-frills stage design (opting instead for an outrageous PA and soun d crew). This is the festival where the bands come because they want to be a part of it, not because they need to be. Most of the bands from last year will be back including Still Hand String Band (the “boogie-grass” band wth a big heart),The John Kadlecik Band (Dark Star Orchestra, Furthur–fantastic!), Willie Jack and Northern Light (not to be missed!) with so many more and featuring: “Stir Fried” (members of the New Riders of the Purple Sage, Buddy Cage and Michael Falzarano and Scott Guberman of Phil LeshTerrapin Family Band.  Newcomers Electric Beethoven and Tom Hamilton’s American Babies will join  bands who have been at the picnic for years like Mystery Train, Dr Slothclaw, Stackabones, Willie Jack and the Northern Lights, and many many other bands. Great music, epic jams good vibes, swimming in clean water and low key security, combine to make “Bear’s” the weekend summer fest not to be missed!   https://youtu.be/wSl8DX5-jKU To submit a review or story for consideration hit us at [email protected] Check out the Live Music News and Review.com Facebook page for updates and announcements.
