Tropidelic is taking their show on the road and taking the scene by storm.  The band formed along the banks of the Cuyahoga River in murky Kent, Ohio in 2008. Fast-forward almost nine years, the band has undergone a few massive makeovers – from relocations to member changes, Tropidelic has come a long way in a short time. Currently based in Cleveland Heights, they’ve been touring and recording incessantly and later this year will release their latest work, “Heavy Is The Head.”

The band’s effortless fusion of funk, hip-hop and reggae meshes seamlessly in part due to the drastically varied musical tastes of all of its members. A wild range of instrumentation offers up a sound that you can’t help but become addicted to. To share that sound the group took to the streets and built an underground following by distributing over 10,000 free copies of their self-produced first EP, “Rebirth of The Dope,” on campuses and street corners throughout the Great Lakes region.

After the release of their second EP, “Tree City Exodus,” the group found success in the Midwest supporting acts like Slightly Stoopid, 311, Pepper, The Dirty Heads, Sublime w/ Rome, Soja, The Wailers, Flobots and many more. Then in 2011, in addition to appearances at Warped Tour and Bamboozle Festival (NYC), the group released their third EP, “Erie Vibes & Irie Tides.” The following year, after switching things up again by adding a horn section and masked percussionist, the group released their first full-length album, “All Heads Unite.”  After two back to back sell out shows on in 2015 at the infamous Grog Shop in Cleveland, the group supported Badfish (a tribute to Sublime) on their South East tour playing to packed houses at venues like House Of Blues Orlando, House Of Blues Myrtle Beach and Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. Since then, they’ve released multiple works such as “Police State” and “Go Down With The Ship,” further cementing their place as a funk/reggae force in the Midwest.

To say that Tropidelic has been keeping busy is an understatement.  A constant flow of new music and an almost never ending string of tour dates makes the band one of the hardest working in the biz. And with the wild ride they put on, it’s safe to say that Tropidelic can entertain just about anyone while on stage.
