A two-day music festival is just 4 weeks away here on Martha’s Vineyard! The 2nd annual Martha’s Vineyard SOUND Fest will offer a diverse musical lineup ranging from indie, rock and folk, to reggae and hip hop. Visual artists and food vendors will peddle their wares and delicious eats, and a kids’ tent will provide fun games and crafts during the day. As they did last year, a group of local artists will be on the scene creating a collaborative painting inspired by the energy and happenings of the weekend. The focus is on local at this event. Local food, produce, artisans, shop owners, non-profit organizations, and visual artists will contribute to the festivities. MV sound 3Entertainment will continue beyond the main event with live music at satellite locations throughout downtown Oak Bluffs. Re entry will be permitted, so that attendees can take advantage of the ideal location: This year, the festival will again be held at Waban Park in Oak Bluffs, across from the Town Beach, where you can go for a dip in the water in between strolling through the vendor booths, snacking on delicious local food, and catching sets from your favorite bands.

MV SOUND is working toward a zero-waste event, and festival-goers will find free water refills available to anyone who brings their own vessel, as well as compost and recycling containers throughout the grounds. Vendors will be providing information about the sourcing of their local produce and materials.Sound-fest-crowd.JPG
