Check out the facebook event for this special night.

Why an acoustic record?  Is there something about that aural concept that intrigues you here in 2015?

TOR: The decision to do an acoustic project happened very organically. We really wanted to do something we have never done before with the new project.   We often perform acoustically when the environment lends itself and I have been playing a lot of acoustic guitar in my solo shows.

New material?  Are there certain inspirational themes that helped you to write these songs?

TOR: Once we made the decision to go acoustic, It definitely influenced a homegrown organic vibe on the music I was writing. Most of the songs are about family and life experience.

Is there something about the Berkshires and western New England that is infused in your music?

TOR:  The Berkshires have always had a vibrant community oriented music scene. There’s a high-level of comradery that I have always found attractive. Sit’ins, collaborations etc. happen often. It has taught me to stay open to new musical influences and made me a better communicator on stage.

Who is in the band for this recording?Rev tor 3

TOR:  Myself on acoustic guitar and vocals Dan Broad on acoustic bass and vocals, Ben Kohn on piano, Andy Crawford on drums. We will also be joined by Rob Sanzone on acoustic guitar/mandolin/ukulele and Peter Adams on pedal steel guitar (Our only non-acoustic instrument). We will also be featuring The Last Waltz Live horn section on a few songs.

What can fans expect that might be a little different than what you’ve done before?

TOR: Sonically it’s not going to sound like anything you’ve heard from us. The songs are much more organic than anything we’ve done before. Having said that, we still put our spirit and energy into it. You’re going to know it’s the Rev Tor Band when you hear/see it but it might just surprise you a bit. That’s what we’re hoping for.

Got your outfit picked out yet?

TOR:  Ha ha… Yeah, I just got measured for my top hat and tails.

Anything you’d like to add?

TOR:  We are really hoping our friends and fans will join us at the Unicorn Theatre on the 20th for the live taping. We ran a successful funding campaign in the fall but we still have a little bit to cover. Anyone can still support us by simply going to the show and having some fun with us. 100% of ticket sales goes to the production of the project.

So all of you music fans out there in New England and beyond, get your butt down to the Unicorn Theater and be a part of history.  Tor is a great guy who gives back to his community, and the band is tight and original.  Didn’t you ever want to hear yourself on a live album?  This is your chance.  And dress up for crying out loud, he’s going to be in a top hat and tails!
