Friday, October 28th, Roots of Creation (RoC) in partnership with Granite Lion Entertainment brings their 9th annual RoCtoberfest to the Jewel Nightclub in Manchester, NH. Costumes are encouraged and door prizes will be awarded.  RoC, a reggae/rock/dubtronica band, has been a staple of the New Hampshire music scene for over 17 years and it seems that there is no stopping them.  In the past year RoC  ran a highly successful crowdfunding campaign to produce their three CD set “Livin’ Free”.  When the album was released April 22, 2016 it quickly shot to stardom and appeared as the #1 Reggae album on the Billboard Reggae charts, hit #1 on Jambands/Relix radio charts, and was the #2 most added CMJ New World. The band’s first official music video from the album, of the song “Struggle (Ras MG remix),” premiered on Live for Live Music on August 26, 2016.

This year’s RoCtoberfest has been amped up, first Roots of Creation’s own frontman, Brett Wilson will open up the show with an acoustic tribute to Bradley Nowell/Sublime.  There are also plans in the works for RoC to play two sets, one with their original music and one “Grateful Dub” set that transforms the music of the Grateful Dead.
Roots of Creation is a six-piece band, featuring guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, sax, and trombone offers up a high-energy, infectious experience at each show.  Recognized as a Top 20 artist on the Relix/Jamband radio charts, a festival staple, and an internationally touring powerhouse, RoC have been awarded “Favorite Jam Band” by Cider Magazine and “Best Band In New Hampshire” by the New England Music Awards. Some recent notable shows include a 4:20 set at the Boston Freedom Rally in front of 16k people, headlining the Uplift festival raising money for music in schools, headlining the “Summer in the 603 Festival” in Hampton Beach, NH and a Midwest headlining tour.

But RoC isn’t the only band playing…Other acts have been added to complete the full lineup, including direct support from The Cornerstone (Boston, MA), Joe Sambo & The Goonz (Salem, NH), and Acoustically Speaking featuring Mik and Kat of the Garcia Project (Saratoga Spings, NY).

The Cornerstone is a Reggae/Rock/Funk band hailing from the South Shore of Boston, Massachusetts. The band is fronted by lead singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist Jackson Wetherbee who has toured internationally. The Cornerstone also features musicians formerly of New England Music Award winning bands The Aldous Collins Band and Last Call. The sound is similar to that of UB40, The Police, Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Joe Sambo & The Goonz is a 3 piece reggae/rock band from NH. The band of brothers Joe and Tony, with their cousin Chris on percussion, prove you can find the groove and soul of reggae no matter what climate. This Spring they’re releasing two highly anticipated singles, with even more music to release in the summer of 2016.

Acoustically Speaking, featuring Mik and Kat of the Garcia Project, formed this special acoustic duo after realizing what a special magical thing happened when they sang and played together. Listen to the music and feel the love and energy that reminds us all about the wonderful, cosmic scene that revolves around The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band.  Kat and Mik have performed live with Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), David Gans (Grateful Dead XM Radio Host) and Tom Constanten (Keyboardist for The Grateful Dead).

DJ Midas, voted #1 DJ multiple years by Hippo Magazine, and RoC Soundsystem will provide funk and reggae music between acts for nonstop dancing.
