Dweezil Zappa Announces 50 Years of Frank North American Spring Tour,
Adds Guitar Masterclass to Select Cities

Dweezilla Learn & Destroy Music Boot Camp
Confirmed for July 24-27 in Big Indian, NY
Dweezil Zappa:  50 Years of Frank, the ever-evolving, decade-plus project honoring the music of Frank Zappa, will continue through the spring, including May 6 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles.  Tickets are on sale now.

From July 24 through July 27 at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY, Dweezil and his band will be hosting their 5th Dweezilla Learn and Destroy Music Camp, open to all ages and instruments, with a new focus on ensemble playing.   It’s your turn to play with the band!

Where scheduling allows, Dweezil will be adding ‘Dweezilla on the Road’ guitar masterclasses on his 2017 tour.

Continuing the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Freak Out!, the debut from Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Dweezil Zappa:  50 Years of Frank has been described as a “loosely chronological tour of a Great American Songbook: the opening flush of doo-wop and dada from Freak Out!; a stroll forward through Frank’s 1971 cinema lark, 200 Motels; mid-Seventies fan favorites from Over-Nite Sensation; and a heavy chunk of the Eighties opera Joe’s Garage…” writes David Fricke for Rolling Stone.

“Pure insane distortion, noise, aggro feedback – there was no sound more dangerous than Zappa’s at the time,” Dweezil tells Rolling Stone. “In 1966, taking home the Mothers of Invention was like bringing a feral tiger home from the circus and asking your parents if you could keep it.”

“Dweezil takes his job as Frank’s musical ambassador seriously,” writes the LA Times, where Dweezil adds, “My concern is to just be able to continue to enjoy the music, live within the music, play the music, express that and allow new people to discover that in a live situation.”

Dweezil Zappa & The Others of Intention: A PledgeMusic Campaign to protect the name Dweezil’s father gave him.

Long story absurd:  In order to continue to use his own name in the fields of entertainment and music, Dweezil Zappa is currently opposing the proposed Federal Trademark of the surname Zappa filed by the Zappa Family Trust.

Here’s a preview of his upcoming PledgeMusic campaign.  Incentives will include a new music, limited edition art, t-shirts and more.
